Our Story

We empower our clients through technology

CommunityConnect Labs was created by the team behind GreatNonprofits after seeing the difficulties human services providers had connecting with hard-to-reach communities. We empower our clients through technology and expertise created through inclusive, human-centered design.

We have found that the most successful way to engage communities is to meet people where they are. Our solutions leverage the existing routines and channels that community members use every day.

  • Technology : We provide digital engagement solutions including text messaging, interactive voice and web chat.
  • Services : We provide strategic consulting, content design, and training to help our customers better connect and engage with underserved and vulnerable communities.

Founder

Perla is the founder of CommunityConnect Labs, the Census Outreach Project, and GreatNonprofits. Previously, she founded the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the leading journal on nonprofit management and philanthropy. She has served on the boards of Goodwill, America’s Charities and Network for Good. Perla holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA from UC Berkeley.

Betsy provides leadership and management for CCL's world-wide team.  She has two decades of experience leading strategy, growth and operations  for tech and e-commerce organizations. Betsy has a degree in social work and has dedicated her career to support mission driven organizations like CCL.

Vice President Product & Engineering

Josh leads CCL's product and engineering functions. He is an expert on omnichannel digital messaging and conversational AI, particularly as it relates to healthcare.

Previously, Josh was Vice President of Product Management at a leading omnichannel SaaS platform, with over 1 billion consumer engagements per year, for a conversational AI-powered healthcare solution geared at increasing health equity and driving outcomes for hard to reach populations.
