CommunityConnect Labs’ Census Outreach Project, Winner of Amazon Imagine Grant, Featured at Amazon Web Services re:Invent Conference

CommunityConnect Labs’ (CCL) Census Outreach project was featured to a crowd of over 60,000 at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent conference, a learning conference hosted by AWS for the global cloud computing community. Vice President of AWS Worldwide Public Sector Business, Teresa Carlson, shared CCL’s project in her Worldwide Public Sector Breakfast keynote, and viewing stations were also set up for attendees to view CCL’s video story.

CommunityConnect Labs was highlighted as one of six organizations in the United States awarded an Amazon Imagine Grant earlier this year. The purpose of the Census Outreach project is to develop and implement new mobile messaging solutions and trainings to help nonprofit partners and local governments ensure a fair and accurate 2020 Census. CCL’s goal for Census 2020 is to help count 575,000 immigrant, low-income, and other hard-to-count people and secure up to $11.5 billion in federal funding for their communities.

The Imagine Grant Program is a public grant opportunity open for registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations in the United States who are using technology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. The program’s goal is to empower nonprofits to prioritize technology as a mission-critical component of their projects and to provide support for organizations pursuing technology-driven goals.
